Latrinia “Trinia” was born and raised in Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, University of Texas Southwestern Allied Health School in Dallas, Texas, and completed her training with a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. From 1996-2003, Latrinia practiced in Houston, Texas working in pediatrics and adolescent medicine for Memorial Hermann Healthcare System. She relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana after marrying her husband. From 2004-2013, Ms. Franklin worked in Urology at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana. She moved to Mobile in 2013 and joined Urology & Oncology Specialists, PC, which became part of Urology Associates in 2023.

Ms. Franklin is a member of American Urologic Association, Urology Association of Physician Assistants, Alabama Association of Physician Assistants and American Academy of Physician Assistants. She has also served on the admission committee for the University of South Alabama Physician Assistant Program in 2015, as well as volunteered to be a guest lecturer.

Ms. Franklin is Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and licensed to practice in Alabama, Louisiana and Texas. Ms. Franklin is able to provide urologic care to pediatric and adult patients.

Physician assistants (PA) are health care professionals licensed to practice medicine with physician supervision. PA’s conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventative health care, and perform minor surgical procedures. PA’s work with people of all ages and their families, providing information people need to make informed decisions about their healthcare and lifestyle choices.
