Living with sudden urges to urinate and unexpected bladder leakage can make everyday activities challenging. For patients who haven’t found relief through medications or other conservative treatments, Altaviva™ Tibial Neuromodulation Therapy offers a new, minimally invasive option for improved bladder control.
Urology Associates is pleased to offer this innovative treatment through Dr. Paul H. Moore, III, MD, FPMRS, a specialist in urogynecology and pelvic floor disorders. Dr. Moore is excited to bring Altaviva™ to his patients, expanding the advanced treatment options available for those experiencing urinary incontinence.
Altaviva™ is an FDA-approved implantable tibial neuromodulation system designed to treat urinary incontinence (UUI), a condition characterized by a sudden, difficult-to-control need to urinate that results in involuntary bladder leakage.
The small device is implanted just beneath the skin near the ankle, where it delivers gentle electrical stimulation to the tibial nerve. This nerve connects to the network of nerves involved in bladder control. By stimulating the tibial nerve, Altaviva™ helps regulate communication between the bladder and brain, potentially reducing episodes of urinary leakage.
Unlike medications or treatments requiring frequent office visits, Altaviva™ provides ongoing therapy through a single implanted device.
Altaviva™ may be an option for adults experiencing urinary incontinence who have not achieved satisfactory results with conservative treatments or cannot tolerate them.
Common symptoms of urinary incontinence include:
Dr. Moore will evaluate your symptoms, medical history, and previous treatments to determine whether Altaviva™ is appropriate for you.
Altaviva™ offers several advantages for eligible patients seeking a long-term solution for urinary incontinence:
Individual results may vary.
The Altaviva™ device is placed beneath the skin near the ankle during a minimally invasive procedure performed using local anesthesia. Once implanted, the device can be activated the same day to begin delivering tibial nerve stimulation.
Dr. Moore will explain the procedure, recovery expectations, device management, and potential risks before treatment. Follow-up care helps assess symptom improvement and ensure the therapy is working appropriately.
Dr. Paul H. Moore, III, MD, FPMRS is committed to providing patients with advanced, individualized treatment options for urinary incontinence and pelvic floor disorders.
With the addition of Altaviva™ Tibial Neuromodulation Therapy, Urology Associates continues to expand access to innovative bladder control treatments that help patients manage symptoms and improve their quality of life.
You don’t have to let unexpected bladder leakage control your daily routine. If urinary incontinence is affecting your quality of life, Altaviva™ may offer another path toward relief.
